The Rev. Stephen J. Moore was Pastor of MCC for more than five
years.
In the spring of 2006, his spouse's
family needed them in Illinois, and after much soul searching, Reverend Moore
opted to resign his ministry in Baton Rouge and pursue family
obligations.
MCC Baton Rouge achieved
many things during Rev. Moore's time here - growth of the congregation,
purchase of a new building, and many many Holy Unions, Baptisms, Infant and
Relationship blessings and other rites of the Church. He brought a unique
experience to the worship services every week. It is unlikely that his passion
and intensity will be soon forgotten, and never
replaced.
He will be sorely missed by
many dear friends and associates in this area, but we firmly believe he will be
an asset to the Universal Fellowship of Me tropolitan Community churches worldwide in the years to come. His
religious and spiritual expertise are too valuable to be hidden under a bushel,
so we all wait to see how God will choose to utilize his
talents. |
